Marcus, a barista at a local coffee shop with a weakness for an excessive use of rhymes, is searching for a life partner. Over a period of months, he shares the ups and downs of his dating experiences with his diary.

 

The action all takes place in his flat, the different scenes indicated by a repeated musical theme (in different guises) first heard at the opening of the show.
