Brass tells the story of a Leeds-based brass band who sign up to fight in the Great War.
Whilst they’re in France, fighting for King and Country, their sisters, wives and girlfriends, all munitions workers at the infamous Barnbow factory, decide to learn the instruments that the men have left behind, in the hope of playing for them when they return triumphantly from war.
But will the lassies succeed in their mission? And how many of the lads will return home? The Leeds Pals regiment suffered almost unimaginable losses on the first day of the Battle of the Somme in July 1916.
